A TV tuner is a device which allows TV signals to be received by a computer. There are different types of TV tuner e.g. analog, digital.

It offers a range of text-based information, typically including news, weather and TV schedules. Subtitle (or closed captioning) information is also transmitted within the television signal (usually accessed by pressing 888 on the remote control.
