The two main UPS topologies are Double-Conversion True Online and Standby / Eco. Many quality-based considerations are involved when choosing the the optimal UPS for the job, like how they are coping with voltage disturbances.

It is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The digits (characteristic numerals) indicate conformity with the conditions summarized in the tables below.
