As flash memory cards have gotten larger and faster, the USB 2.0 interface has fallen behind the times. The newer USB 3.0 SuperSpeed specification provides for speeds up to 10x faster than USB 2.0, making it a much less tedious process to copy 64GB of music to a memory card.
This USB 3.0 card reader has slots for microSD™/M2, SD™, Memory Stick™/Memory Stick™ Duo, CF, and xD cards, meaning that the popular microSD™ card can be read and written without the use of an SD card adapter. The full list of supported cards is listed below. The reader is compatible with all versions of Microsoft® Windows® from 2000 forward and all versions of Apple® Mac® OS X® from 10.2 forward.
No software or installation is required. Just plug the reader into an available USB 3.0 (or earlier) port and plug in your memory card. The reader measures about 3.3" x 2.0" x 0.6" and comes with a short USB 3.0 cable.
