The Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO Home Server with Microsoft® Windows® Home Server provides a reliable and simple way to organise, access, and automatically protect precious memories, music, videos and personal documents. The SCALEO Home Server functions as a media centre for the home. Storage can easily be increased, using internal & external hard disks, as required. All data - plus backup & recovery for systems in a home network - are managed via an easy-to-use web-based interface. Users are able to access their multimedia content from any networked PC in their home, & remotely via the internet. The SCALEO Home Server is near-silent in operation & comes with special energy management software that minimises power consumption but nevertheless guarantees on-demand system availability.
The SCALEO Home Server with Microsoft® Windows® Home Server is available with two different storage capacities - the SCALEO Home Service 1900 model boasts a capacity of 1TB (2x 500GB hard drives) & the Home Service 1500 model stores up to 500GB. Both models feature modern, quiet SATA2 hard drives running at 7200rpm & can be further extended by adding external hard drives via USB or eSATA connection. Both models offer Gigabit Ethernet connection for LAN networking & the new Microsoft Windows Home Server operating system.
Security - If you like, the SCALEO Home Server automatically backs up your PCs and notebooks. All your data and files are mirrored for total security; so if one drive is faulty, you can easily recover your data from the server.
Shareability - You may share your files with others within your network. But you always stay in control. You decide which folders, media or data you allow others to see.
Accessibility - Connect to your SCALEO Home Server via the Internet from anywhere. For instance, when sitting in a café with your notebook, share digital memories, like your photos, immediately with your friends.
Flexibility - Thanks to UPnP and streaming, you can be watching a video you made and change the room, or change the device, without missing a second.
Sustainability - SCALEO Power Management enables you to control energy consumption and save money. You can tell the SCALEO Home Server to "come to life" at regular intervals, e.g. when typically needed or at specific individually set times.
