The ideal performance of the Threadripper Edition is ensured by using the 120mm Wing Boost 2 premium fan that comes with the cooler. With the aerodynamically revised s-shaped wing geometry and the new Wing Boosts we both could increase the airflow as well as improve the static pressure at lower noise.
The included ultra-high-performance thermal grease Permafrost makes this deal perfect and guarantees the best possible cooling for CPUs in socket TR4.
Trapezoid shaped fins
The special trapezoid shaped fins that are placed in a 180° rythm creating two essential advantages:
- Narrow Fin pitch in the center of the heatsink
This feature increases the thermal surface and ensures a higher heat dissipation
- Wide fin pitch at air inlet area
By having a wide fin pitch at the air inlet area the Alpenföhn „Matterhorn" can be run with very low fan speed as the airflow faces less resistance. Despite that the "Matterhorn" cooler has closed sides. This helps guiding the air through the narrow fin area and offers better mechanical stability.
Heatpipe/Coldplate
- the six U-shape Heatpipes have a large contact area to the full copper baseplate to optimize the heat-transfer from the CPU.
- the special shape of the new designed convex colplate ensures a performance advance, even on Haswell based systems.
WingBoost 2 Fan
The first generation of WingBoost fans already proved it´s exellent performance in various reviews. With the new aerodynamically improved wing geometry we could not only increase the airflow but as well inprove the static pressure at lower noise.
With the improved S-Shape geometry we could reach a higher static pressure compared to conventional designs.
Permafrost Thermal grease
Permafrost our new high performance thermal grease assures best perfomance due to a low thermal resistance.
Highest concentration of advanced silicone fluid interacts with filler particles to create a more stable matrix.
