Dialogic® Diva® softSS7 entirely abstracts ISUP (ISDN User Part) call control from the application. Therefore, ISVs and OEMs developing applications can use any Dialogic® Diva® application programming interface (API) such as industry standard CAPI or the interfaces offered by the Dialogic® Diva® software development kit (SDK) for the implementation of SS7 applications. As a consequence all existing or new applications written to any of the Dialogic Diva APIs will seamlessly work in both ISDN and ISUP Environments. In addition, all existing COM Port (Windows), or TTY (Linux) applications running on Dialogic Diva media boards will work without code modification in SS7 carrier networks.
Dialogic Diva softSS7 is an add-on SS7 protocol stack which offers MTP (Message Transfer Part) and ISUP functionality for sending and receiving calls over digital E1 interfaces. SS7 signaling link(s) are configured on any time-slot of the E1 trunk(s). All other time-slots can work as bearer channels, carrying voice, fax, or data traffic. Up to eight E1 trunks per system can be controlled by one or more SS7 signaling links.
