The new MI 2005 network isolator is now also designed for connecting current WLAN routers with transmission rates of up to 2.5 GBit/s. The key advantage is that it can be operated with existing network cabling (Cat6). In accordance with the requirements of DIN EN 60601-1 (edition 3.2), it has two independent protective measures (2 MOPP) to the patient and is therefore ideally suited for the standard-compliant galvanic isolation of Ethernet-based signal interfaces within the patient environment. The new MI 2005 also has ESD and lightning protection properties. It thus protects connected devices and their users from overvoltages due to lightning, electrostatic discharges, etc.
The MI 2005 network isolator can be used as an accessory or component of a medical-electrical device or system.This world - wide established network isolator offers a flexible and easy option for immediately isolating of medical equipment. In less than 5 seconds, patients, users and equipment are protected from dangerous leakage currents flowing via the data network.
Under stress conditions the MI 2005 isolator was tested up to a isolation stength of 5 kV AC (60 Sec.). Furthermore, 8 kV contact discharge and 16 kV air discharge are easily fulfiled.
